Weekend Fun - Races and Pumpkins

Since our first year in Ashland, some combination of me, my mom, my friend Katie, and my dad have walked either Crusin' the Corridor, a 5 or 10K race or the Whistlestop half-marathon.  Walking the half-marathon has been fun but it eats up most of one's Saturday morning, leaving one exhausted for the rest of the day.  My dad had an orchestra concert this year, so my mom came up and we did the 5K Cruisin the Corridor race.  My mom did a combination walk/jog and I jogged the entire 5K without walking once.  My time wasn't fabulous - 32:35 or so - but since I hadn't run for more than 2 miles (if we round up), I'll take it.

Meg and Bobbie before the race.  The weather was perfect!

Saturday afternoon my mom tried to help Lilly but she was pretty cranky, teething and having a cold, so we did more tag-teaming than usual.  But we managed to get laundry put away, the garden goods removed from the garden, zucchini shredded, and I managed to reseed the front and mow the lawn.

Sunday morning we headed off to Don's Pumpkin Patch.  We went last fall and Lilly had a great time.  She had so much more fun this year, it was really fun to watch her.  She was obsessed with the chickens, or "bawk bawks."  The pumpkins (ba-boo) were interesting to her but not as cool as the chickens.  My camera battery was dead, but luckily my mom was there and could save the day and managed to get these great pictures.

Family Photo.  Lilly really wanted to walk on the wagon - but
the signs specifically told her she couldn't.

My mom and I got these sweet shirts for doing the race on Saturday.

Feeding the chicken popcorn.

Lilly is really into carrying things around these days.  These pumpkins - perfect!

Yup.  That's my girl.
