The imaginations of Lilly and Greta never cease to amaze me. Here they are pretending to give haircuts.
March brought warmer temperatures and rainier weather. That meant saying good bye to the igloo. We made a valiant attempt to save it - including (and I am embarrassed to admit this) going to Sherwin Williams and buying plastic sheeting to cover it and protect it from the rain. When we had perfected the igloo, we needed a new task, so Nick took the post hole digger out and dug giant holes in the snowbank next to the alley. This hill was made from both snow plowed from the alley and blown from the driveway, so was a respectable height.
If you look carefully, you can see the tops of their heads in this photo.
The Great Lakes Visitor's Center has snow shoes you can take out on the trails, so we did a little snow shoeing while there was still snow to be had.
Grilling. Nick likes to take pictures of grilling.
I really don't know what is happening in this photo, but clearly a very organized game of something was being played.
More fun in the igloo.
So, the time was running out for the igloo. We decided we'd try making a sunroof.
Then we decided we'd try to make a stain glass window for the sunroof. It was really pretty in the cake pan but it didn't quite work out when we tried to install it in the igloo.
The sad, sad time when the igloo really started to fall apart.
So, we pulled out the bikes!
There was also an indoor snowball fight, which Greta really enjoyed playing with my parents.
And, the final demise of the igloo.
I don't know exactly what this imaginary game is, but I think it involves a carriage and horses.
Since we had so much snow, we were able to continue playing in it come March. We went skiing a handful more times.

I am sure there is a reason but it isn't coming to me at the moment - maybe because she was "sick" but Lilly spent he day with Nick at work. She drew Shaun the Sheep and lots on his windows.

We also took the bikes to the elementary school, where . . . Greta started riding a two wheeler! (Insert cute video here!)
My parents came to visit and we also went to the Community Play Day at the Bretting Center. They've installed an indoor playground, so the girls had quite a bit of fun exploring that.
