April starts with one of Lilly's favorite holidays, April Fool's Day. And it just happened to be her snack day. So she brought in used bandaids and brownies. :)
Our April Fool's Day trick on the girls was freezing their juice and their cereal. They were entertained.
Lilly reading to Greta is still just one of my favorite things. And luckily for me it happens quite often.
For Christmas, Lilly and Greta both would get kits in the mail with projects all on a certain topic. Lilly got a kit related to mirrors and made this great visor.
With the snow melting, the sidewalk chalk came back out. We made a GIANT hopscotch.
This is also one of my favorite pieces of writing from 2019. It is written in the style of Click Clack Moo. (Dear Little Bo. The chicken food tastes awfully bad. (Please change it.) The nest is awfully prickly (please change it too). It is awfully cold. (Please make a chicken coop). XoXoXo Love Peep)
The snow and ice was washing on shore.
We had our friends over for more fun in the backyard. Digging in the sandbox with mittens on.
Let's go fly a kite! The girls got really into Mary Poppins, so we ended up getting kites. We had lots of fun flying them at Lilly's playground.
These two sisters really do love one another and spending time together.
Lilly got a new bike this year. A black bike. With gears. And handbrakes.

April brings Greta's birthday. She turned the big four years old this year.
We gathered with all the Robertsons for Easter at Ben and Becky's house in Brainerd. We stopped in Duluth on our way to Brainerd before getting on the never ending Hwy 210. Never ending.
These pictures aren't in any particular order, but we certainly had no shortage of fun and great weather. There was lots of playing outside, riding bikes, jumping on the trampoline, Nick paddled, and finding eggs. And pickleball. Lots and lots of pickleball.
Easter baskets were also hidden inside and the kids searched high and low for their baskets. They all eventually found them!
This note was left on our pillow. I'm keeping it for when she's a teenager :)
This might be from earlier in April but they are ending up here. We've decided Greta will make a great CEO some day. She came up with the brilliant plan that we should cover the entire driveway with sidewalk chalk. For the entire project, Greta maybe, if we're being generous, colored 4 inches worth of driveway. The rest of us took the challenge head on and filled the entire strip of driveway.
The water is open, so Nick is officially out on Lake Superior again.
