First Day First Grade!

Lilly had many questions about first grade, so she wrote them down to share with her teacher during our orientation session the day before school started.

Ms Halbe, I have some questions:
1. Will we have story time?
2. Will we have play time?
3. Will we have private reading time?
4. Which seat is mine?
5. Which lunch table will be ours?
6. Will we have homework?
7. Will we practice walking in the room?
8. Will we have show and tell?
From Lilly

Greta was all set to bring some books to share at day care.  Also, Nick was really proud of the ponytail he put in her hair.

Finally!  The first day of first grade!  Lilly and I went first day of school shopping and in her words, she didn't want to be too fancy.  I would pull out an outfit and she would dismiss it as too fancy.  I just want a skirt, a shirt, and sweater to go with it.

I just love, love, love how Lilly just wears whatever she wants with such grace and confidence.  Mismatched socks?  No problem.  My shirt/skirt/pants/etc don't really match?  No problem.

Greta also needed to pose for a first day of school photo.

When I went to check on Greta before I went to bed after the first day of school with our ninth graders.  She pretty much summed up how tired I was.
