It finally happened! Lilly has been waiting for this day for nearly a year since her good friend Magda lost her first tooth. For ages she's felt that her tooth was loose, but it never really was until last week. Each day she would update me on how wiggly her tooth was. She also really wanted the tooth to fall out at school so she could get a tooth necklace. Well, today was her lucky day! When I went to pick her up from daycare, I saw the plastic tooth necklace hanging around her neck. It is pretty strange to see that gap-toothed kid!
She's very excited for the arrival of the Tooth Fairy. In fact, she asked to go to bed early! She had many questions about how the Tooth Fairy was going to get in her room (concern she would get cold if the Tooth Fairy would open the window) and just how she would switch the tooth for whatever she would bring. There was also concern that the tooth would be lost under her pillow, so she put it on a piece of paper with "my tooth" written on it with an arrow pointing at the tooth, next to her pillow.
Yes, other major events have happened since the last post; there is a post in progress chronicling Christmas and one on the way for Lilly's sixth birthday, but this I could do in a few minutes and then get to bed!
