Leprechauns and Brunch

Growing up, we never did anything with March 17th, St Patrick's Day.  Maybe we'd wear green, but that was about it.  Lilly and Greta's daycare makes a big deal out of it though.  Leprechaun traps are set, tricks are played.  That means the tradition now needs to come home.  So, we set traps and Nick and I have to try and think of tricks to play.

This year Lilly built a pretty sweet trap.  There was a rainbow of pipe cleaners inside the juice bottle to lure the leprechauns.  We put a few green jelly beans in the traps after she's gone to bed.  This year we did a few different "tricks," including hanging hats from the dining room table light, dressing up her dinosaur skeleton, switching the order of things on the bathroom counter.  We will step up our game next year and have perhaps some more tricks.  Daycare had put new pictures of all the kids up with goofy faces, green food coloring in the toilet (Leprechaun pee of course), and they had to follow the glitter trail to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

On Saturday we went to a friends' for brunch.  They have a daughter, Magda, about a month older than Lilly and one of Lilly's dearest friends.  They also have Lulu who just turned three, and Frankie (short for Francesca) who is about 8 months old.  They cooked us a delicious brunch and the girls had a ton of fun playing together.

On Sunday, Greta pulled herself along the floor from the kitchen all the way to the living room, an estimate of 25 feet.

That weekend we also did some FaceTime with my mom and dad and played outside.
