Wow. The things that Lilly says, notices, and remembers astounds us pretty much every day. Of course we rarely remember to write them down and I haven't posted many in a long while. I apologize if some of these are repeats, I don't remember if I deleted the ones from my list from the last time.
These first two are old!!
She was sick for a week. She woke up from her nap and told us she dreamt about a dromedary.
Also when told it might be snowing when she woke up from her nap, she asked if she could play outside. Nick said no, that she was too sick. Her response: but dad, snow is water, water is fluids, and fluids make me me feel better.
More recent ones:
Lilly: Dad, what are chemicals made of?
Nick: Atoms.
Lilly: Are they smaller than ladybugs?
Nick: The forecast said there was no chance of rain (as it was sprinkling).
Lilly: Maybe the forecast meant no chance of sun.
She was telling her grandparents about her trip to the dentist. “The dentist gave me a cross bite.” (she has a cross bite that will need to be fixed at the orthodontist when she's about 8 or 9). A few weeks later she told me that dad went to the dentist, but he didn’t get a cross bite.
Greta, if your ears hurt, you shouldn’t be slapping them.
We had tickets to ride the train in Duluth - we got them for free. Nick asked Lilly if she wanted to go and their conversation went a little like this:
Nick: Do you want to go on a train ride with mom and dad this weekend?
Lilly: Will there be trestles?
Nick: I don't know, why?
Lilly: I don't like trestles.
Nick: Why?
Lilly: They are rickety.
(Nick then came up with some lie telling her the trestles are more closely supervised these days and they should be fine. She decided to stick in Ashland and play with the grandparents anyway).
