Visitors, Visitors, Visitors! (Part III)

The Tuesday after Nick's parents left, my mom arrived.  Since Tree Top takes a three week vacation, my mom came up for a few days to help out with the girls.

Tuesday, Lilly had quite a meltdown about us not going to go pick up the CSA and get a cookie at the Black Cat.  We weren't going to have time to go there and have dinner and have soccer, so a huge meltdown ensued.  However, she did recover and earned going to Culver's after her soccer game if she kept it together.

Greta seems more into soccer than Lilly at times

Wednesday we were going to go blueberry picking but storms and rain were rolling through, so we stayed in.  We hung out, I ran to the grocery store so Lilly could do milk painting, and my mom and Lilly made a blueberry and apple pie.  Oh, Lilly found her bunny ears, so then wanted to dye Easter eggs, so we did that too.

She was Izzy for awhile

We tried to get a picture . . .

Wednesday evening Nick and I went out to dinner with some friends of ours.  We usually have them over with their children, but we decided it would be nice to go out to dinner with just the parents and have conversations that weren't constantly interrupted by children.  And it was a delightful evening.  Minus Lilly being greatly upset with us leaving, until we suggested they have brinner (breakfast for dinner) at the park.  In fact, they had a picnic of pancakes at the Purple Park.

Thursday we went blueberry picking and then went to Co-Co's for lunch.  I am sure we did something in the afternoon and then Lilly had soccer Thursday night.

Since Lilly was upset about us going out on Wednesday, we told her we would go to Burger King and get her free ice cream cone (Burger King offered free ice cream cones to kids wearing their soccer shirts) just with mom and dad.

Friday morning we rushed out of the house and went to the Great Lakes Visitor Center.  We walked around inside for a bit (Lilly is starting to express some interest in what is actually around now) and then we did the scavenger hunt outside.

We said goodbye to my mom at the GLVC and then headed home.  It was terrific having her here to help out, keep the girls entertained, and do our laundry and dishes!
