Wonderful Whirlwind Wedding Weekend Part II

So, we left off with Greta waking up as the car seat clicked into the car.  We followed the directions on my phone to the wedding, Nick driving perhaps a bit on the fast side to get us there as close to 3:00 as possible. We made it and Nick dropped Lilly and me off near the wedding while he and Greta went to park the van.  Lilly had fallen asleep right before the van came to a stop but denied any such claim.

We got her basket from the maid of honor and Lilly and her two new friends spent a ton of time picking dandelions while waiting for the bride and groom to arrive.  Bridget and I were in competition for largest bouquet.  I believe Mark was in the running for a short bit but only received two.  During this adventure, Lilly managed to find a batch of burs and had a huge chunk grab on to her dress.

Three musketeers!

The flower girl sporting leggings with a hole in the knee, mismatched
socks, a shirt she was wearing earlier, and a glow necklace.

One of my favorite pictures

We watched the girls pick flowers and socialized with family members, working to stay warm while waiting for the wedding to begin.  When Sam and Suzy arrived, the fun began.

of the hotel room.  Nick was off getting a warmer blanket for her

Hitched!!
The ceremony was chilly but brief and beautiful.  After the ceremony we headed to the VFW to celebrate with good food, delicious cake, dancing and conversations.  Lilly kept asking about cake and dancing.  Greta was going on fumes but managed to keep it together with lots of adventures in the hallway.  Sam and Suzy have incredible friends and family who all helped get the food together.  A nice touch was the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the kids!  Lilly managed to have fun playing with Alison and Emily, her glow necklace, and with Greta in the hallway.  It was finally time to dance and who never went on the dance floor?  Lilly.  The music was too loud, so after she colored with Cally a bit more, we headed back to the hotel.

The cake!
Nisse, Matt's fiancee made the cake.  She made the cake in New York, froze it, had it fly on the plane with her to the Twin Cities, and she frosted it and it was delicious.

Better than ice cream!

With the bride and groom
Hopefully Thursday will hold the third and final installment of the Whirlwind Wedding Weekend, the picnic celebration on Sunday.
