Weekend Adventures

Spring hasn't really sprung here.  We have had about two really warm days and that is it.  We've gone outside as much as we could though.

Friday after Greta's birthday (and Dianne stayed home with the girls due to a day care closing so they could attend a workshop on outdoor education), it was pretty nice.  Lilly and Dianne went out to dinner together, we stayed home with Greta and then took her for a walk down to the lake.

The weekend mornings were delightfully warm and then the winds shifted to coming in off the lake and the temperature quickly dropped 20 degrees.  That was last weekend, here are some photos from our trips to the parks and a walk to the Co-Op where we ran into at least five people we know (everyone was out since it was finally warm - or was before the winds shifted).

I was going for a photo with both of them looking through the loops. Didn't happen

Sunday morning Nick went out for a paddle with some friends and I took the girls to the park.  Greta was more adventurous and even climbed up the tunnel.  She was rewarded with a trip down the slide and she LOVED it.

In afternoon we went back to the park, Lilly rode her trike all the way there and back.  It was COLD though, so we didn't stay at the park very long.  (That and it was very busy with some rather rough and poorly supervised kids who kept nearly accidentally injuring our children).

This past Saturday it was rather chilly (high around 45) but we had a great time in the afternoon hiking Houghton Falls.  A trip we typically do on Mother's Day, and still might, but we were looking for a quick easy hike to get us all out of the house but that could be done after naps and before dinner.  Mission accomplished.

Looking for Ashland

She needed many reminders to stop being a snow lion and keep walking
so we could get home on time.  We did allow her to crawl up the steep hills
Greta was getting crabby in the carrier but when I pulled her hands out of the
snowsuit and let her start touching the trees she was much happier.
A quick shoulder ride

Lilly was only on Nick's shoulder for a short time before getting back down to run the rest of the way.  She was running quite quickly, it was fun to see.  She wore herself out utterly and completely and couldn't even keep her head up at the dinner table.

Sunday it rained pretty much all day, so we decided to stay inside, minus getting the grill ready for dinner, and taking our imaginary dogs for a walk.
