I have a few more "Wrapping Up" posts to write, but school has started again and I did not do the grading I intended to do over the break, so spend my evenings reading mediocre scripts. However, I wanted to share this photo with you all - this is how Nick started off 2016 - paddling on Lake Superior!
They did have to go a bit further north, up by Bayfield to find open water, but they did. Those of you worrying about how he stays warm, he has a thick wetsuit, special boots, and this Christmas added special paddling mittens. He ended his January paddle by . . . jumping in the water. Seriously. But he did it so he could know what it feels like so if he were ever to really fall in, the sensation wouldn't be a total surprise. This is probably his last paddle this winter and will wait for spring before heading out on the water again.
