Lilly is very concerned about safety. This is evident through her obsession with snow tires and telling us to drive safely. Any time she sees a motorcyclist not wearing a helmet (which, unfortunately is most of them) she points it out to us, out of concern. The same goes for people on bikes (again, far too many). Bicyclists also get the admonition,"they should listen to their mother!"
One morning on the way to day care, Nick and Lilły saw two cyclists not wearing helmets. Lilly informed Nick that they needed helmets and to listen to their mother. It turned out that one of them was one of Nick's research students. This happened weeks ago when I was still on maternity leave.
Monday Lilly went into work with Nick for a few minutes. While there, completely on her own, she wrote that student a note, telling him he needed to wear his helmet.
