My brother and sister-in-law gave Lilly a sea monster kit for Christmas. She eagerly awaited the arrival of the sea monsters, asking multiple times every day, "Did they hatch yet?" It was difficult to explain to a toddler that we'd be staring at an empty tank for a few days before we'd see anything. And luckily they did hatch (we were failing to come up with any contingency plans). We're all actually really interested in them now, they are growing pretty quickly. Right now you have to look in the tank very closely to see them, they are these tiny white floating things, but they are bigger today than they were yesterday. Now the challenge is telling her we can only feed them every other day, she wants to feed them all the time (and not always just their food, she wanted to feed them beans tonight!).
