Blue Vista Apple Orchard

On the Sunday following the big race, we drove up to Bayfield and picked apples at Blue Vista apple orchard.  I had the time they closed wrong in my head, so we got there a mere 15 minutes before closing.  Oops!  We did some really focused picking for 15 minutes, got a nice bag of organic, locally grown apples and had a great time running around the orchard enjoying the gorgeous fall day.

After the 30+ minute drive up to Bayfield, we felt it was silly to drive back without doing anything else in Bayfield, so we went out to dinner at Maggie's.  We had a nice dinner and I enjoyed root beer.  Lilly of course wanted some, so once there was just a little bit left in the bottle, I let her have it.  We tried putting a straw in the bottle, but it was too short.  Lilly's response, "I drink it like beer" and picked up the bottle and drank from it.

Lilly was ready to be done with dinner before I had finished, so Nick and Lilly walked to the park on the shore of Lake Superior while I ate the last bits of my amazing Greek salad and paid the bill.

Perhaps she's seen Ice Age one too many times and is
emulating a sloth.

Now going back in time to Saturday after the race . . .

During lunch, Lilly was making funny faces and Nick was taking pictures.
The laughter her makes me smile.
Saturday afternoon Nick spent some time installing new blinds (we found a steal online - 68% off so ended up getting new blinds for nearly all the windows in the house) and Lilly helped.  She's apparently also working towards getting her plumber's license .  . . .

Fancy new blinds - the cordless kind

Lilly and I headed outside while Nick installed a few more blinds.  Outside we painted her pumpkin and did some other pictures as well.  Then we moved to the driveway to draw with sidewalk chalk.  And yes, she is wearing the medal she got from her race.

She numbered the hopscotch squares herself.
I am impressed with number 1, the rest are zeros, but
she did count correctly while she wrote them.
