On Saturday the library hosted Vehicle Extravaganza. First, Granny Goose told stories about trucks and cars. Then we went outside and there were fire trucks, an ambulance, a police car, and a road grader. All were open for kids to explore and police officers, EMTs, and fire fighters there to explain the inner workings of the trucks and answer questions.
My parents came with, they came up Friday night. Here are the photos from my dad and I few I snagged:
After the Vehicle Extravaganza, we walked a few blocks to the Farmer's Market and Bakery. Home for lunch and nap. Then to put my parents to work (the real reason we asked them to come). My mom vacuumed and did laundry, my dad helped take apart furniture, and I worked on organizing materials to take out of the office area upstairs, which we are turning into a playroom (with actually hardly anything in it) for Lilly.
On Sunday my dad and I tackled the garden while my mom took Lilly to the park. Nick then worked on vacuuming the upstairs and finishing up laundry. My dad took care of the raspberry bushes and moving our compost pile. I went through and picked all the tomatoes that were worth salvaging and pulled up the plants.
After her nap, Lilly and I played outside and then she helped me sort the tomatoes and dig up the two carrots that we grew.

We had an unusually warm late September day, we hit a high of 83. Lilly and I played in the backyard - going down the slide into a pile of leaves, blowing bubbles, and having the smallest bubble container (the baby) hide and the mom and dad (medium and large bubble containers) find him. We ended our evening by walking to Dairy Queen with our friend Elizabeth and enjoying a cool treat on a warm day. Lilly ate an entire mini-M and M blizzard by herself. Apparently she lied to us when she said she was full after dinner.
