Sioux Beach Trips One and Two

Last weekend it was pretty toasty on Saturday, so we took a trip to Sioux Beach between Bayfield and Washburn.  We met up with our friends Tim and Elizabeth, who had a friend with his three-year old son with him.  My parents participate in an annual golf outing, which used to be in Bayfield every year but in the last few years they've hopped around the state.  This year the group returned to Bayfield and Ashland, so my parents and some of the women from the group met up with us there too.  A big ol' party.

Nick bought a stand up paddle board a few weeks ago.  He's been going crazy not being able to get quality cardio work since his hip surgery.  We took that up with us and had a nice long time at the beach.  Unfortunately the photos I took of my mom and her friend on the paddle board were with her camera.  So, no photos of their fun adventures.

Today we took another trip up to the beach.  A chillier day by far (probably ten degrees cooler) but beautiful.  Nick's dad is doing the Point to La Pointe swim, a two mile swim from Bayfield out to Madeline Island.  We met at the beach after Tim and Dianne picked up his registration materials and fancy sweatshirt.  I did not get in the water at all this time past my knees, but Lilly waded in past her belly, which is more than she did last time.

Jumping over the waves.
Both trips ended with going to Bayfield to eat at Ethel's, a really great place to eat.  Both times Lilly had "pasgetti" and I had some delicious pizza.  After dinner tonight we walked down to the pier and looked at the boats.  On our way back to the van we stopped at the Candy Shoppe for ice cream and candy.
Not sure what his physical therapist would say about the shoulder ride.
And Lilly had Superman ice cream . . . and this is what happened:

This picture doesn't quite do the mess justice - she had it all the way up to between her eyebrows. Both trips were successful and fun and we've promised ourselves we need to do it much more often.
