A quick story - Last week I was brushing my teeth, getting ready for bed. Lilly started crying, pretty intensely, but I gave it until I was done brushing my teeth to go in. She seemed much more rattled than her normal night cryings, so I picked her up. Asking her what was wrong was met with, "worm." At first, I thought she was saying she was too warm. But then she told me to "get it out, mama." I asked her if she thought there was a worm in her bed, which she replied, "yes." I turned on the light, showed her there was no worm in her bed, and she happily went back into her crib. I turned the light off and the shadows from her crib slats created by the nightlight appeared. She pointed to them and said, "worm?" I let her know it was just shadows, she said, "no worms" and went back to sleep.
What an imagination!
