Another Snow Day . . . .

Today both Northland and Ashland had snow days.  We kept Lilly at home and are enjoying a nice spontaneous three-day weekend.  After making pancakes from scratch, Nick headed outside to snow blow.  Lilly and I followed and trudged around in the snow for awhile.  It was fairly warm but windy.  We came back inside to warm up and Nick stayed outside to keep snow blowing.  He came back in roughly two and a half hours after he went outside.  Nick estimates that overnight we got around 15 inches of snow.

The winter storm warning was originally until 1:00 AM on Saturday but by early afternoon the sun was out at times and the snow had stopped.  Not after another inch or so had fallen, however.  As the sun warmed up the wet snow, it started to melt and slide off our roof.

Here's after the snow fell off the roof and we shoveled the sidewalk in front of the garage door.
Here's a photo from over a week ago . . .

We went out to dinner and then bonded as a family, shoveling the snow that had fallen in front of the side garage door and the overhead doors.  Then Lilly wanted to walk on the snow in the yard, which quickly changed to me carrying her and sinking all the way down in the snow.

Anyone want to change their guess?

  1. WOW! Crazy! I spent today getting some herbs and broccoli starts into my little garden while the kiddos played in the sun and sprayed each other with the hose...
