Crafting

I have been a knitting machine the last month.  Chunky yarn is my best friend (yarn friend that is)!  I knit some more owl hats, a hat for my friend Juliet who was due to have a baby in December, and leg warmers for Lilly and Cally (my niece).  I don't have photos of the leg warmers, but here's baby Charles wearing his hat and two more owl hats I cranked out (one for our friends who had a baby girl and one for Lilly's daycare mate Magda, whose name she drew in their Secret Santa).

My brother didn't want very much for Christmas because he's saving up for a Dr. Who DVD set.  We got an Amazon gift card for him but I felt he needed something more fun to go with it.  So I offered to knit him a TARDIS hat.  (TARDIS is the machine Dr Who travels around time and space in).  It was a big change from my chunky yarn infatuation.  I went from knitting on size 13 needles to size three.  I went from knitting with one color to knitting with three.  And after all that, I don't even think it will fit him.  But, it might make a nice candy bowl or tea cozy. I am pretty pleased with how it looks though - and I knit words!!!

Why I am pretty sure it won't fit Matt . . . .

I also crafted a few nest necklaces but didn't get any pictures.  Now I am going to make another owl hat - back to chunky yarn!

  1. Hey sis,
Back from Belize. If the hat doesn't fit me, no worries - I'll be able to find a use for it:)
