I hope to do a few posts, I thought I would do the easiest one first. While we were down in Eau Claire we missed a major snow storm in Ashland. Official reports say 31.5 inches in about 24 hours, friends report areas of closer to three feet. All of these came on top of the 2.5 feet already on the ground. There were drifts of six feet in the roads. This is what we came home to the following Saturday:
Why was he holding Lilly and shoveling with the other? Well, I was back in the minivan, puking. I was lucky enough to get sick on the drive back up to Ashland, so Nick had to trudge through the snow, carrying Lilly. Then put her down for a nap, then head back out and snow blow as much as he could during her nap. He managed to get half the driveway and the back sidewalk finished before Lilly woke up. He spent the rest of the night finishing up the other half of the driveway and the front walk. I spent it in bed, sleeping.
My illness lasted a few days, so Nick's parents came up on Monday to help us out. Nick's dad was nice enough to tackle the giant pile of snow left behind from the plow so we can safely pull out of our driveway.
I hope to take Lilly outside one of these days and get a picture of her standing on the sidewalk, surrounded by snow, but the temperatures are not cooperating. The high today was predicted to be minus two. That's not including windchill. But Saturday promises to be a balmy 23 degrees, so perhaps then! Also coming will be the impressive pile of snow Tim moved from one side of the driveway to our yard, shovelful by shovelful.

| We really appreciated the giant pile of snow from the alley plow put in our yard. |
| Nick held Lilly in one arm and shoveled enough to open the door with the other. |
