Artwork, Hot Chocolate, and Fashion

Here are some photos of Lilly's artwork the past month.  She's starting to tell me what she's drawing, rather than me asking her after the fact and telling me, or me asking her to draw something and she scribbles something down.

Lilly knows where the finger paints are and walked over to the cabinet and asked to "pay".  

While Lilly refuses to take baths and showers, she does enjoy walking into the shower and drawing on the walls with the crayons.  This is her rendition of Nick.

Lilly really wanted to spend time outside this weekend.  However, it was bitterly cold.  Saturday morning's temperature was 11 with a windchill that made it feel like minus five.  Lilly did not want to come inside and I finally bribed her with hot chocolate, her first experience with it.

Lilly also put together this stellar outfit.  We did add the leggings to keep her legs a bit warmer, since she picked her thinnest leggings.

As the above photos show, Lilly has her own sense of style.  On Saturday she put together this shining example of fashion after the above pants were spilled on.  Notice, the socks do not match:

Lilly enjoys checking the mail.  Unfortunately we started a tradition this summer where we'd sit in the doorway and look through it.  Now it is really cold, so we don't like to keep the door open.  This is what we did on Saturday to get her in the house to look at the mail:

Here is the final outfit, on Sunday.  I did not get the picture of her earlier outfit, which was a lovely pink top, turquoise skirt and gray leggings.

I think my favorite thing about this outfit is the pants are too short, which was driving her crazy, so later Nick pulled up her socks and she seemed to think that was even cooler.

Then, as Nick was getting her ready for bed, she found a pair of Smart Wool socks.  She wanted to wear them.  And Nick lost the battle, so Lilly went to sleep last night with socks on in her footie pajamas.  Last night was the first night in weeks where she slept through the entire night.  Socks again tonight?
