It was a long week. Not sure totally what made it long, maybe it was starting my week by melting a plate on the stove (a majority of it actually peeled right off but there is still a layer that needs to be carefully scraped off with a razor), Nick being out of town for a bit, still waiting on the MRI results, the rainy weather, or the fact that it is mid-term and students are panicking about grades (something perhaps, they should have been concerned about from the beginning). Anyway, it is finally Friday and I am ready for the weekend.
After dinner, Lilly wanted to head back outside. It was fairly chilly, so after putting on a jacket and winter hat we headed outside. She has this little cart that she loves to push around and that she has finally mastered the art of turning. The girl runs with the cart, scaring us, waiting for it to get too far ahead of her and for her to face plant on the driveway. After a bit of pushing the cart in the driveway, a new game evolved. It was mom pushes the cart chasing Lilly as Lilly runs around the car parked in the driveway (we finally have our Corolla back thanks to my parents) and dad waits around the corner to jump out and "scare" Lilly. This game was fun for at least five minutes. Lilly was laughing and giggling every time and kept saying, "more." A great way to end a "bleh" week.
Some fun tidbits from the week . . .

| How I feel about this week! |
*Lilly has a friend (if we can call them this at this stage) Alma at daycare. Lilly loves to say her name - "Ahhh-mahh" and will say it at super random times. The best though is when she says it after she's done with her breakfast - like she knows she's heading off to Tree Top and will get to play with her.
*Wednesday evening was Lilly's open house for Tree Top. It was a lot of fun to see her interact with the other kids in her play group. There is a great slide and there were three girls (including Lilly) at the top waiting for a girl to go down. We held our breath as we waited to see what our daughter would do - would she wait her turn? Push the little girl? Budge in line? Lilly waited her turn - but also wasted no time going down when it was her turn!
*Lilly has taken to trying to repeat every word we say, which is just great fun. One word she can say almost perfectly now is "blue." She can correctly identify it, but it is also her go-to color when we ask her what color something non-blue is. However, if we ask her to point to the yellow thing or green thing, she points to the correct one. So - I'd say she knows the colors red, blue, yellow, and green.
*We have no idea where our little fashionista comes from, but she likes picking out what shoes she's going to wear each day and has now started picking out what she's going to wear. We'll give her options and she'll pick which ones she wants. One morning this week we had to change her clothes after breakfast. The new onesie had a lizard on it and she was super excited to see it. She clapped her hands, and said, "wahoo!" I wish I could get that excited about what I was wearing.
*After the shirt incident yesterday, Nick put a bib on Lilly at breakfast this morning. The bib was still on the table at dinner. Lilly was sitting at the table, eating her grapes while I was in the kitchen heating up the rest of her dinner. I look over and she's wearing the bib. She must have seen it on the table and decided she needed to wear it and pulled it on over her head. It was even facing the right side out.

| Lilly put together this outfit. I slipped on the red t-shirt, she picked out the skirt and the rain boots. |
