Plastic Plates and Stove Burners

Nick is in Eau Claire tonight and heading to the Twin Cities tomorrow to get another MRI of his hip.  He's still struggling with pain which is an understatement.  He still can't sit comfortably, walk very long distances without pain, or even begin to think about running.  At work he's created himself a standing desk to work from and does all his work at home on his stomach.  The doctor tried an injection about a month ago and that didn't help matters, so it is back to Minneapolis to get another image to figure out what is going on there.

This means Lilly and I are flying solo tonight and tomorrow.  We went to the Co-Op after school/daycare and picked up food to make dinner - fettuccine alfredo.  The easy way - a jar of Newman's Own alfredo, noodles, and frozen broccoli florets from the garden.  I boiled the water, cooked the noodles, moved the pan to the back burner  . . . .

and then set Lilly's plastic plate on the front burner.  That's right, her plastic plate on the hot front burner.

I need to clean this up but am not even sure where to begin . . .

When I pick Lilly up from daycare, everyday she chants, "daaa-dy . . . daaa-dy" until we get home.  She is a big dad fan right now and mom is very much so second banana.  If not third or fourth banana with dad taking spots one to three.  Tonight went pretty well (minus the whole melting a plate on the stove) with only a few random chants asking for "daaa-dy."  Here's a picture of her watching Nick stain the deck (she added the vest).

  1. So what did you decide to do to clean it? We had words from a bread bag forever burnt to one of our stove eyes. There was no getting that plastic off.

    Good thing we moved. :)
