I just wrapped up a full week of class and am tired. It feels good to be done, but with two assignments still hanging over my head, I don't feel a huge sense of relief. Oh, and that whole bit about school (inservice) starting a week from Monday.
As mentioned in a previous post, Jonathan Martin, a forestry professor at Northland, was my kayak escort as I swam to Madeline Island. To keep himself entertained while slowly floating over to the island, he snapped a few photos and shot some film footage. Then, apparently because he really enjoys playing around with film editing and making videos - turned these into a video of me swimming! Super cool - it has a soundtrack, the images are great, and the still photos are even incorporated into the film. It was really neat to watch and share with my mom. I feel a little strange posting it here - it is a three minute video of me swimming - but it turned out to be a neat video, he put a ton of effort (it seems) into making it so I feel like it should have a wider audience, and it does give a sense of the race. So, watch it, don't watch it. It is a little awkward (for me) but the clarity of the lake is something to see if anything else.

Here are a few photos he snapped as well.

| I'm going to say this is me passing that swimmer, not him/her getting close to passing me. |
