I have a new goal - to do a blog post every day this week. It has yet to be determined if this is a five-day week or a seven-day week. Maybe it will be a six-day week or a four-day week. (That way no matter how many days I post, I achieve my goal.)
Today's blog posting is a video. Lilly is obsessed with slides. If we go to the park, that is what she will do first, in the middle, and then last. There is a great "purple park" near our house that has a perfect slide just Lilly's size. She can climb the steps, get herself situated, and go down the slide all by herself. A parent just needs to be nearby to remind her to sit down sometimes, or help her (or other bigger kids) take turns.
We do not own a slide at our house. I see those orange/blue Little Tikes slides in people's yards and wonder, would they notice if it just went missing? I cannot bring myself to buy a chunk of plastic for $50 but it would bring a ton of joy to Lilly's life. Luckily I know some people who go to garage sales and have them keeping their eyes peeled for such a toy.
What will Lilly do until then and on days that we do not go to the park or Fun and Run? Why - she makes her own slides. The footrest of our Poang chairs are very exciting slides, as is Nick's backpack when it is at a slight angle against the counter in the kitchen. Don't believe me with how fun it can be? Here is video proof of the thrill that is sliding down a backpack.

I support this goal 100%. I also support its flexibility. Screw rules.
