Quite Ridiculous Part IV

On Tuesday night we walked to Dairy Queen and had our first Blizzards of the season.  Lilly was treated to a small dish of vanilla ice cream (pays to be a high school teacher whose former students work at the DQ!) so we sat and watched cars go by (Lilly waved at most of them) and ate our ice cream and walked home.

Wednesday night: Winter Storm Achilles.  Yup.  We started back over at A.  I think my idea for Winter Storm Aardvark is much better.  Anyway, probably received another 14 inches of snow here on May 2nd.  No snow day this time, but glad for it since we already have to make up the last one.  At school we are wrapping up a poetry unit, so we wrote similes about snow in May.  My two favorites:

Snow in May is as welcome as a grizzly in a preschool.
Seeing snow in May is like getting poked in the eye with a toothpick.

I think my students are sick of winter.

Here are some photos:

Here is one photo of Lilly playing outside before Achilles reared his ugly head.  Playing outside this past weekend when it was sunny and warm. On Monday it was nearly 80 degrees and we went to the park and played.  It was a delightful taste of fun to come.
