Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!  I asked my students this morning why Valentine's Day had an apostrophe.  Their answers were depressing.  My least favorite - because there is more than one.

However, what was not depressing was that Nick and I went out to dinner.  Just the two of us.  Meghan, our day care provider, had a fundraiser at her church.  Grandparents and a few other adults were babysitting kids!  Just drop your kid off any time between 5-8, go out to dinner, vacuum your house, whatever you wanted to get done on your Valentine's Day.  So we took advantage!  We dropped Lilly off at 5:30, rushed off to our 5:30 dinner reservation (a bit late), had a delicious dinner at Second St Bistro, and picked her up at 6:40.  It was great just going out the two of us - and we even managed to keep our talking about Lilly to a minimum.  We did joke that we were going to drop Lilly off and come home and take a nap!

Here are some photos from the day.  Have a great holiday and a great weekend everyone!

Two ladies dressed up for the day.  I'm wearing my new dress boots.
I love them.

I'm in trouble, she's already reading chemistry textbooks!
I put this hat on to see if it fits.  It doesn't.  She's pretty cute in it though.

Meghan's daughter in first grade made Lilly's name tag (Lily 2#) and stuck it on her rear
when we dropped her off tonight.  (Lilly was the second Lilly to show up.)  She was pretty
wired when we got home, so we let her burn off her excitement of being around
other kids ALL day and night.
