Six Word Memoirs

One of my "get to know you" activities for this fall with my English 9 students will be Six Word Memoirs.  They must sum up their life in six words, no more, no less.   I've been thinking of some of my own to use as examples.  I thought I would share them with you.

Did a tri, actually liked it.
Swam to Madeline Island, didn't drown.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind more sleep.
Patience rewarded, married long-time crush.
Apostrophes - possession, contractions.  Not plural nouns!
Getting used to title working mom.
Gallbladder is gone.  Don't miss it.
My daughter - couldn't love her more.

And, as luck would have it - SMITHTeen is holding an illustrated Six Word Memoir competition with entries due October 12th.  Ah, real world meets the classroom.  Gotta love it.
